Lok Sabha elections 2024: Before the Lok Sabha election, There is a stir-up in Politics as The ministers or Political Leaders switching across parties. Some are switching after not getting a ticket while others might be seeing or estimating the other party as a better option for the future. So it’s still trending in Indian politics. One more name added to it

Ravneet Singh Bittu, Congress MP from Ludhiana, Punjab on Tuesday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the Lok Sabha elections

Ravneet Singh Bittu represented the Anandpur Sahib Lok Sabha constituency in Punjab from 2009 to 2014. In the 2009 Lok Sabha polls, Bittu defeated Shiromani Akali Dal’s (SAD) Dr Daljit Singh Cheema with a great margin of 67,204 votes.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Bittu defeated Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Harvinder Singh Phoolka with a margin of 19,709 votes.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Bittu defeated Lok Insaaf Party’s (LIP) Simarjeet Singh Bains with a margin of 76,372 votes

Ravneet Singh Bittu had previously served as the leader of Congress in Lok Sabha from March to July 2021. Bittu was elected to the Lok Sabha, from Ludhiana in 2014, 2019 Assembly elections and earlier from Anandpur Sahib in 2009.  In January 2021, he was assaulted at the Singhu border during a ‘Jan Sansad’ program.

It’s Shocking news for the Congress in Punjab although the BJP has lost its ground in Punjab more recently cause of Farmer protests etc…but if see the candidate & Track record of Bittu can help the BJP in upcoming elections & can create difficulties for Congress which Losses the last State election AAP. Now for Loksabha, they have joined hands but the problem is seat sharing.

AAP has benefits as a ruling party in the state while Congress is a bigger party at the national level.
